Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing
EMDR

Philip Dutton was trained in EMDR in 1996
at the time of the Dunblane shooting tragedy.

He has since used and taught EMDR successfully for 14 years in both the NHS and privately with Adults and Children.

EMDR was found to be the most useful single therapy used for over 10 yeas in a hospital based clinic, a maternity clinic and a G.P. surgery.  Other skills are used as necessary.

In 1998 Philip completed his training as an EMDR Institute Facilitator (only 2 in Scotland).
He is an Approved Consultant in EMDR (Europe)

He has used EMDR for 15 years and has been supervising others in its use for 13 years.

He has assisted the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program internationally and remains a volunteer for emergency work and supports colleagues internationally in the use of EMDR.

TRAUMA

Trauma affects us from childhood onwards and the effects are cumulative.  The effects can stay dormant or hidden until we have an every-day serious accident when suddenly we find we do not cope.

Further explanations will follow but for now,
for resources on Trauma please see
Dave Baldwin’s award winning trauma pages.
